Privacy Policy

What we collect

  • Member name — the name you enter when creating or joining a household. Stored in our database and in your browser's localStorage.
  • Location — your approximate GPS coordinates or the zip code you enter, used only to find nearby restaurants. Location is stored in your browser's localStorage and sent to our server only when starting a restaurant round. We do not log or retain it.
  • Swipe choices — which cuisines and restaurants you swiped yes or no on within a round. Stored so the matching algorithm can tally household agreement.

What we don't collect

  • No email addresses or passwords — there are no user accounts.
  • No payment information.
  • No persistent device identifiers or advertising IDs.
  • No analytics or tracking pixels.

Third-party services

  • OpenStreetMap / Overpass API — we query public map data to find restaurants near you. Your coordinates are sent to the Overpass API servers; see OSM Foundation's Privacy Policy.
  • Vercel — our hosting provider. Standard server access logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) may be retained by Vercel per their data retention policy.

Data retention

Household and round data is kept in our database indefinitely but contains no personally identifiable information beyond the name you chose. You can stop using the app at any time — your data will not be used for any purpose other than running the dinner-decision session.
